ESPRAS has developed working relationships with a number of specialty related European organisations.

EBOPRAS (European Board of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery) is the working group of the UEMS Section of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (PRAS).

EBOPRAS was founded under Dutch Law and is financially completely independent from the UEMS section of PRAS. The income of EBOPRAS arises from the registration fees of applicants wishing to sit the EBOPRAS examination and is almost entirely used to cover the costs of their organisation. The EBOPRAS examination consists of 2 parts (Part 1: MCQ; Part 2: oral) with twice yearly sittings for each part (4 in total pa).

The need for a high standard European Society of Plastic Surgery was the main reason for a group of Plastic Surgeons, inspired by Daniel Marchac, to constitute an Association with the aim of promoting the excellence of Plastic Surgery in Europe, furnishing an annual Forum for a selection of the best scientific works presented at National Societies, stimulating research and investigation at European level, as well coordinating various forms of teaching.

The UEMS (European Union of Medical Specialists) is the representative organisation of the National Associations of Medical Specialists in the European Union and its associated countries.

Currently, 43 Specialist Sections, 15 Multidisciplinary Joint Committees and over 20 Divisions are active in this regard.

The European Association of Societies of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (EASAPS) represents all the National Societies with a special interest in Aesthetic Plastic Surgery together with its co-society ESAPS, especially in European matters. We share the same goal and purpose.
